Firth’s innovative RibRaft HotEdge® slab insulation solution has options for all cladding types – each of which meets the new H1 Energy Efficiency requirements.

• HotEdge® for brick veneer cladding.
• HotEdge Extra® for non-brick veneer cladding.
• HotEdge Base® for under slab perimeter insulation.

By insulating the edges with HotEdge® or HotEdge Extra®, depending on the cladding, more than 80% of heat loss from a concrete slab can be retained. Adding HotEdge Base® provides under slab perimeter insulation to achieve even higher thermal performance. HotEdge Extra® has the same slab integration and durable finish as HotEdge®, a building’s thermal envelope is improved, which increases energy efficiency to help lower running costs. These fully integrated thermal solutions are designed and tested specifically with Firth foundation systems to ensure they meet the new R-values required - R1.5 to R1.7 depending the zone – for concrete slab-on-ground floors.
