Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer among males: even ahead of melanoma. It accounts for 15% of all male cancer related deaths (MOH statistics).
Early awareness and diagnosis saves lives…it’s that simple.
Our customers are predominantly male, our business prides itself on health and safety and from a corporate responsibility point of view we wanted to sponsor an initiative that was not only relevant and worthy but also under represented.
To date PlaceMakers has raised over 1.3 million dollars for this very worthy cause and our local stores do a fantastic job of fund raising around Blue September.
We urge you guys (particularly if you're over 40) to get a simple PSA blood test. For more information visit http://www.prostate.org.nz/
PlaceMakers is the official and exclusive Community Partner for each of the New Zealand based Super Rugby teams – the Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders.
As a New Zealand company, we’re proud to support the national game. Rugby builds excitement and camaraderie across the regions like no other sport.
This sponsorship is all about our commitment to our local coummunities, our customers and their families, our staff and the sport; it also includes involvement with the players off the field too, with in-store visits and activities across the PlaceMakers store network.
PlaceMakers is the proud sponsor of Big Angry Fish. The hottest, newest fishing show in television hits TV3 from the end of April, on Sundays at 5.30pm.
PlaceMakers Big Angry Fish shows New Zealanders “how to catch the big one”, whether it’s two minutes from a boat ramp or out in one of New Zealand’s best kept secret fishing spots.
The show originated on a Far North fishing expedition, when Milan Radonich and Nikolaj Mathiesen witnessed some “insane” moments in nature, with the ocean literally alive with fish.
“We had a massive snapper eating our slow trolled five-pound kahawia and we caught kingfish until we couldn’t catch any more,” said Milan Radonich, PlaceMakers Big Angry Fish host.
From that day on the guys had a dream to show the world what wild and amazing nature New Zealand has to offer and to give anglers the knowledge and skill to catch massive fish in their local waterways.
PlaceMakers got on-board (take that literally too, we've had some wild fishing moments with the boys as well) and as fishing is a passion for a lot of our customers and staff we are proud to have had a hand in bringing Milan and Nikolaj's dream to life.
He's from Geraldine, he's humble, he's modest and he's a great bloke - we're proud to sponsor the hugely talented Hayden Paddon, PWRC World Champion 2011.
He's taken New Zealand to the forefront of the world rally stage and he's not done yet. This year, Hayden has moved up a class and is now footing it (or should that be flooring it) with the world's best as a competitor in the S-WRC championship.
We wish him all the best as he moves into top gear and gets the job done.
For 20 odd years PlaceMakers has been sponsoring this event. New Zealand's builders and related trades are about quality, craftsmanship and producing world class buildings and homes. It's a privilege to be part of a competition that recognises excellence in our industry.
